報告人介紹：Penny Middleton was the Authority to Operate Holder (or ATO holder) for JET from 2020 to 2023 and was responsible for the safe operation of JET during two Deuterium-Tritium experimental campaigns. Penny is currently the site office manager for the JET de-commissioning and repurposing project, this includes the responsibility for ongoing work on the JET site and also the management of many subject matter experts on JET operations & maintenance.

Penny will discuss the operational safety experience of JET and how this can provide lessons to ongoing and future fusion devices as we approach larger experiments and even reactors. This will include the regulatory framework, how JET was operated in a flexible way while maintaining safety for all of the workers and the environment in the presence of tritium, the operational structure and coordination of JET and how this experience can be used in the future.
